What is screen-free AI learning?
Screen-free AI learning uses AI without screen exposure. Instead of typing into a laptop or tablet, children interact naturally with physical books, worksheets, classroom materials, and real-world objects while receiving instant explanations, guidance, and encouragement through audio.
How is CurioCam different from ChatGPT?
ChatGPT is a general-purpose chatbot designed for open-ended text conversations. CurioCam is built specifically for young learners. Instead of typing or reading responses on a screen, kids speak naturally and hear responses aloud. It helps children explore physical learning materials, provides age-appropriate explanations through audio, and encourages engagement with books, worksheets, and hands-on activities rather than more screen time.
Can CurioCam support dyslexia?
CurioCam can help children with dyslexia by reading text aloud, explaining difficult words and concepts, breaking information into manageable steps, and reducing the frustration that can arise when reading independently. It is designed to provide supportive, confidence-building learning assistance rather than replace specialist interventions.
How does CurioCam reduce screen time?

How can I be sure the content is relevant, helpful, and not misleading or harmful to my child?
CurioCam is designed specifically for learning support. Responses are tailored to the educational context, use child-friendly language, and include safeguards to reduce harmful, inappropriate, or off-topic outputs. While no AI system is perfect, safety, relevance, and educational value are fundamental design priorities, and we continuously evaluate and improve the experience.
What age range is CurioCam designed for?
CurioCam is currently designed for primary-aged children and learners with additional support needs, typically between ages 5 and 12. However, some older learners, particularly those who benefit from accessible learning support, may also find it valuable.
How does CurioCam protect my child’s privacy?
Privacy is built into the product from the start. The camera only captures nearby learning materials needed to answer a question. Raw image and voice data are discarded after processing and are not stored as a permanent record. CurioCam is designed to collect the minimum information necessary to provide learning support while protecting children's privacy and meeting safeguarding expectations.
What CurioCam is not for?
CurioCam is not designed as a general-purpose AI chatbot for unrestricted internet-style conversations. It is also not intended to replace teachers, teaching assistants, parents, therapists, or specialist support professionals. Its purpose is to support learning around real educational materials and activities.
